    Biography

    San Domenico alum Niki Fukada is a brilliant young violinist and experienced teacher.

    Niki began her musical career at the age of seven with her teacher, Miriam Kammen. At the age of nine, she was admitted to the prestigious Crowden Music School in Berkeley, California where she continued her studies with Heghine Boloyan. After she completed her studies at Crowden, Niki was admitted to San Domenico High School. She began attending the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival (HPAF) in 2011 as a student in the senior program and from 2012-16, continued as a student in the senior program and a teacher for the junior program. At the festival, she worked with renown artists such as Ignace Jang, Chee-Yun Kim, Parry Karp, Eugene Chukhlov, Igor Veligan and Michael Strauss.

    In her last year of high school, she continued her studies with Wei He from the San Francisco Conservatory and Eugene Chukhlov. Niki began her undergraduate studies at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California under the tutelage of former L.A. Philharmonic concertmaster, Alexander Treger. For her Sophomore year, Niki decided to follow her teacher from HPAF, Chee-Yun Kim, to Southern Methodist University where she completed her B.M. in violin studies. She is currently working on her masters degree in violin under Diane Kitzman of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
